Vodafone - Mobile broadband dongles and deals

In theory Vodafone has the fastest 3G network. In practice it's a different story it seems, Vodafones favourite quote is "* Top speeds can vary significantly." If you're in a major city or built up area this could very well be a replacement to home broadband, If you're not in one the high speed areas then you won't get anywhere near 7.2mbps. "You also get the fastest mobile broadband around, fantastic reliability and a network that covers 80% of the UK population. That's fact. The LCC said we're significantly faster and more reliable than other operators. And they should know - they're the world's largest independent wireless engineering company." A little snippet from the website, I totally agree on the reliability but as said earlier unless you're in one of the high speed areas you won't get that speed, to check if you are eligible for their high speed service you can use our coverage checker by clicking here!

09 March 2010 - Spain sheds mobile lines in January

(Telecompaper) Spain shed 76,303 mobile lines in November, bringing the total number to 52.81 million, up by 3.4 percent over the same month of 2009, according to the monthly report by Spanish regulator CMT. The drop was mainly due to the prepaid segment, which lost around 244,111 lines in the period, due to the adjustment carried out by Movistar, following the entry into force of the prepay user identification obligation established by the Ministry of Industry. In the coming months, other operators are expected to announce further adjustments in the number of prepaid lines generated by the same prepay user ID obligation. Over the last three months, Orange won 59.57 percent of the total new additions, Vodafone 45.77 percent, Yoigo 43.53...

01 February 2010 - Vodafone Portugal prepares 43Mbps mobile internet offer

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Portugal will launch this year new HSPA Dual Carrier mobile broadband technology that will allow speeds of up to 43.2 Mbps. The new wireless technology will double the current download speeds and improve the customer experience for mobile internet access, the operator said. The higher speed will allow customers to download an MP3 file (5 MB) in less than a second, a video clip (35 MB) in less than six seconds and a movie (800 MB) in about two minutes. The operator is currently testing the technology in partnership with Ericsson and Qualcomm, using the Qualcomm MDM8220TM chipset.

30 January 2010 - FCC Fridays

We here at Engadget Mobile tend to spend a lot of way too much time poring over the latest FCC filings, be it on the net or directly on the ol' Federal Communications Commission's site. 20 January 2010 - Apple Tablet rumor roundup: summer 2010 edition

Before we get into the rumors, here's a fact: unless the Apple Tablet cures cancer, global warming and obesity in one fell swoop, there'll be plenty of disappointed faces leaving the Yerba Buena theater next Wednesday. The hype is that overpowering. But hey, that doesn't mean we are not curious to know what it will actually do, so let's get to the latest batch of uncorroborated scuttlebutt. The Rumor: The Mac Observer believes these are legitimate photos of a 10-inch glass front for Apple's new machine. Coming from a "trusted source," the pictures seem to confirm a 10-inch screen size and an iPhone-inspired design (which includes an earphone hole!). In the pic to the side, you can see it resting atop a unibody MacBook Pro's keyboard for...
